Instructions

Run the check on each operatory PC

Repeat these steps on every computer where VoiceChart will run. The whole process usually takes under two minutes.

Download and open the tool

Save ClinicPCCheckInstaller-latest.exe on the operatory PC and double-click to run it. Nothing permanent is installed. The tool uses a temporary folder only.

Enter clinic details

Provide your Clinic Name * and Operatory Number (optional but recommended). This helps Serapis Health match each report to the right location.

Click Run

The tool scans Windows version, RAM, disk space, CPU, internet connectivity, and your installed Open Dental version. Results appear on screen.

Review results and finish

You will see pass, warn, or fail for each requirement. A summary is sent to Serapis Health automatically. Click Finish when done. No files are left behind on the PC.

What VoiceChart needs on each PC

The PC Check tool verifies these automatically where possible. Items marked manual should be confirmed by your IT team or office manager.

Windows 10 or newer 64-bit Windows required. Windows 11 is supported.

8 GB RAM minimum Accepts 7.5 GB+ usable. 16 GB recommended for best performance.

10 GB free disk space 20 GB free recommended for updates and local cache.

Open Dental 23.3.7+ With REST API enabled. The tool detects your installed version.

Stable internet Required to send the report to Serapis Health and for VoiceChart in production.

Modern CPU Intel i5 / Ryzen 5 or newer recommended (i7 / Ryzen 7 preferred).

Also verify manually: one free USB-A port for the wireless mic kit, and that your network allows outbound HTTPS to Serapis Health services.

Data & Privacy

What gets sent to Serapis Health

The PC Check tool collects system information only. It does not access patient charts, photos, or PHI.

Included in the report

  • Clinic Name * and Operatory Number you enter
  • PC name (computer identifier)
  • Windows version and 64-bit architecture
  • RAM and free disk space
  • CPU model name
  • Installed Open Dental version
  • Internet connectivity status
  • Pass / warn / fail for each check

Never collected or sent

  • Patient names, chart numbers, or dates of birth
  • Clinical notes, images, or treatment data
  • Open Dental database contents
  • Audio or voice recordings
  • User passwords or credentials
Your report is transmitted securely over encrypted HTTPS to Serapis Health so our team can review compatibility before onboarding. Reports appear in our internal admin portal and are used only to help your practice prepare for VoiceChart. For privacy questions, email privacy@serapishealth.com.

Common questions

Does this install VoiceChart?

No. PC Check is a standalone compatibility scan. It does not install VoiceChart or modify Open Dental.

Do I need admin rights?

No. The tool runs with standard user permissions on Windows 10 or newer.

Should I run it on every operatory PC?

Yes. Each computer where VoiceChart will run should be checked individually, since RAM, disk space, and Open Dental versions can differ.

What if a check fails?

Review the failed items on screen. Upgrading RAM, freeing disk space, or updating Open Dental may be needed before VoiceChart can run reliably. Our team will also see the report when you join the waitlist.
